The objective is to align four or more smilies of the same color either horizontally or vertically to clear them from the board. Diagonal connections are not permitted, adding a layer of challenge to the puzzle-solving experience.

The game excels in creating chain reactions; when a set of smilies vanishes, it can trigger subsequent disappearances, leading to larger combos. Successfully executing these chains rewards players with special bonuses such as the "Big Eater" or the "Random Brush," both of which provide unique methods for clearing additional smilies from the screen.

For those who enjoy a competitive edge, Smiley Chain offers a global leaderboard where players can compare their scores with others around the world, enhancing the game's replayability and social interaction.
